Mission and Vision of the Graduate Program in Computer Science and Technology (CTC)

The Graduate Program in Computer Science and Technology (CTC) aligns with the institutional principles of UNIFEI and contributes directly to fulfilling the university’s mission and vision. To achieve this, the program defines its mission and vision as follows: 

CTC Vision

To be a national and international reference in the training of highly qualified professionals and researchers in Computer Science and Technology, fostering innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable social impact through research, education, and outreach. 

CTC Mission

To train outstanding professors and researchers in Computer Science and Technology, integrating teaching, research, and outreach to develop innovative solutions that drive technological progress, meet societal needs, and promote sustainable and inclusive development. 

Alignment Between the CTC and UNIFEI’s Mission and Vision

The mission and vision of CTC are closely aligned with UNIFEI’s institutional mission and vision. The program reinforces the university’s commitment to knowledge creation, dissemination, and application, as well as the integration of teaching, research, and outreach, which are fundamental pillars of UNIFEI. 

By emphasizing innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable social impact, the CTC directly contributes to technological and sustainable development, supporting UNIFEI’s vision of being an inspiring and recognized institution that actively engages with society. Concentration Areas

  • The Graduate Program in Computer Science and Technology (PPG-CTC) is structured into two main concentration areas: 

    1. Computational Mathematics

    This area is composed of the following research lines: 

    • Artificial Intelligence: Focuses on the research and development of artificial neural models, expert systems, fuzzy logic, rough sets, and genetic algorithms applied to various domains. 
    • Applied Computing: Covers software engineering, distributed applications, assistive technologies, databases, and the Internet of Things (IoT). 
    1. Computer Systems

    This area includes the following research line: 

    • Hardware and Software Foundations: Encompasses research and development in computer hardware systems and basic software, including computer networks, distributed systems, embedded systems, and operating systems.
